On Friday’s “The View,” the co-hosts reacted to the Roy Moore and Louis C.K. sexual misconduct allegations. Watch the video below.

The Washington Post on Thursday published a story alleging Republican Alabama senate candidate Moore had a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl when he was 32. The article also cited three other women who said they were between the ages of 16 and 18 when Moore, then in his 30s, pursued them. A number of top Republicans have called on the candidate to step down, but others in the party are continuing to support him. Those supporters have suggested the allegations aren’t true or shouldn’t matter in the senate race. Moore has also denied the claims.

Also on Thursday, the New York Times published an article in which five women, four on the record accused Louis C.K. of masturbating in front of them. The comedian hasn’t commented, but a rep said he will release a statement in the coming days. In the meantime, HBO and Netflix have pulled his projects from their services, and a film studio has backed out of distributing his upcoming movie, which actually deals with an inappropriate sexual relationship.

Now on the ABC talk show, Joy Behar kicked off the discussion by sighing, “Another day, another batch of sexual misconduct allegations.” Sunny Hostin, a former federal prosecutor, said about Moore, “What’s so offensive to me is when he preyed on this 14 year-old girl, her mother was in the courthouse where he was an assistant district attorney, and he told the mother, ‘She shouldn’t be here in with you listening to what’s going on, I’ll watch her for you.’ hat’s true predatory behavior, illegal behavior by someone who is sworn to enforce the law. I think that’s disgusting.”

Sara Haines noted how Moore has argued that homosexuality is on par with bestiality, “but somehow he feels the behavior of preying on an underage girl is okay.” Behar pointed out in response that “he denies that he did it,” to which she said, “But you have four named sources, 30 sources total… There’s no way we’re gonna get further than that. You either have to believe them or not.” And Meghan McCain, who is a Republican, said, “We should hold them to the same standards we are people in entertainment. Yes, they are allegations, but they are very damning allegations. It’s pedophilia.” Hostin also stressed, “Sexual predatory behavior, sexual harassment, sexual assault, is not a left or right issue. It’s an American issue. It’s a human issue. It’s illegal. It’s not a political issue.”

And that’s when Behar brought up the “comedy world” also being involved, thanks to Louis C.K. A stand-up comic herself, she said, “I always depends on comedians, but not when it comes to something like sexual misconduct. That’s never okay. I always say let comedians speak. I don’t talk about what they do. We’re talking about free speech when I give comedians a pass. Not this. Sorry, Louis.” Haines called the allegations “despicable behavior,” and further remarked, “I don’t even want anyone at Starbucks seeing me take extra Splendas in my pocket. Who sits down and thinks that not once, not twice, but five times, I’m going to do something that could be repeated outside of this room? Where is the arrogance, the ego?”

Shared McCain, “The thing that breaks my heart about this is if you asked me two months ago who was one of the best celebrities you ever met in person, I met Louis CK. I was on a show with him one time and he was so lovely backstage, talked to everyone. And it just goes to show that it’s not always the jerks being divas and not nice to staff like that [who are really problematic].” She went on to ask, “Is being a woman in the world just a completely unsafe experience?” She also noted that Behar looked “upset” as the conversation went on.

“I’m upset because other comedians are being handled by this manager who told them to keep quiet,” Behar said, referring to claims that Louis C.K.’s manager tried to keep his accusers from sharing their stories. “I think they should drop him. I’m not going to say names… [But] we need you guys to help us. We can’t do this alone.” She later clarified that the manager denies he ever did anything improper, but pointed out, “It’s she-said, she-said, she-said, he-said.” The silver lining to Haines? “I think that the tide is changing… Finally the silent have been given a voice,” she said.
